Monteverde Birdwatching Tour in Curi Cancha Nature Reserve – With so many birds in Costa Rica, we are just skimming the surface here. There are 918 known species and 82 families of birds here in this amazingly diverse country. Within each species there is often variation between plumage in females and males, breeding and nonbreeding males, and adults and juveniles. From the moment you begin your tour on the Curi Cancha Nature Reserve, your naturalist guide will help you try to spot some of the 200 species of birds that have been observed here. Some of these birds include The Resplendent Quetzal, Three-Wattled Bellbird, Blue-Crowned Motmot, Orange Bellied Trogon, and many others.

You are sure to enjoy this experience, and you will leave wanting to learn and explore more about birds. Other frequently sighted animals include armadillos, kinkajou, ocelot, sloths, and 3 species of monkeys.If you are a birder, nature lover or just love animals, Costa Rica is truly a paradise.

We’ll start at Curi Cancha Reserve, 300 meters west of the Monteverde Cheese Factory, 60109 Costa Rica. Curi cancha Reserve is a local private protected area with very good topographical characteristics to practice the activity of observing tropical birds such as Emerald Toucanet, Resplendent Quetzal, Fronted and White Parakeets and mammals such as Spider Monkeys and more.
