Before beginning the tour on your own, a park representative will check you in and provide you with a quick safety lesson and useful recommendations. Here on this tour are trails and bridges that bring you as close as you could ever hope to get to the birds, flowers, and the lush vegetation of this primary rainforest. Walk right into the forest along several stretches of hanging bridges overlooking the dense Costa Rican tree canopy along easy, safe and beautiful trails with views of the Arenal Volcano.
The trails are designed for all ability levels and cover a total of about 2 miles. You will be able to admire the great diversity of flora and fauna typically found in the tropical rain forest and also have the opportunity to see many different birds and plant species for approx 2.5 hrs. Appreciate the wildlife as you cross the 15 different bridges, 6 of which, are hanging!

We include pick up from hotels, condos and private residences in the following areas:
La Fortuna Area: $30 per person
Arenal Lodge, Observatory Lodge, The Springs, Lost Iguana & nearby $40 per person
Pick up times above are an estimate. We will send you an official pick up time the day before the tour. Please be ready outside 10 minutes before your scheduled pick up time, but it can take up to 20 minutes longer depending on the day’s pick up schedule and traffic
Special Notes
- Age limit – no minimum – we recommend young children are brought in a carrier.
- Endurance level – there is a Moderate amount of walking
- Hike Distance – Total: 3.2 km / Shortcut version: 1.9km
- The minimum to operate the shared tour is 2 people, if we don’t meet the minimum we will send options 1 or 2 days before
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- We operate this tour rain or shine!
- Not recommended for participants with heart complaints or other serious medical conditions
- We highly recommend the use of a guide to make the visit more interesting as it is often difficult for the naked eye to spot creatures in the wild of the rainforest while hiking in Costa Rica.
